Comments: Very informative website. Too bad that is necessary. I wish there had never been a need to create this site. Thank you to the parent's on here for making this information available. We are all so very sorry for your tragic loss.

Comments: With more than these typed words can accurately portray, I so humbly thank the McCarthey's ("umbrella name" to include Ken and Kathy too!) for giving our children and our families a soft place to land....and a voice. Thank you for validating our childrens' lives when it seemed nobody else would consider doing so, due to "the stigma". God Bless our angels, God Bless our angels' families and God Bless our FDLFDers. Thank you for the shoulders, the arms, the voice, the love, the ears....that soft place to land. Humbly grateful...dd, Christi's mom.

Comments: I wanted to drop a line here to thank from the bottom of my heart Pat and Lisa McCarthy as well as Ken and Kathy for the heart felt support they have given me since we got in touch a few weeks ago. My 16 year old daughter Katelynn was killed by an impaired driver just 7 weeks ago and it's tough to find parents that know exactly what I'm going through. I really can't stress enough just how much you all mean to me. What you did for my family by adding Katelynn to your website has touched my families hearts in a way most people can't imagine or understand. Thank you so very very much and I vow to do everything in my power to not only put the message out there about the tragedy of Katelynn but Danielle and the rest of our children as well. Again, thank you so much and God Bless You All.

Comments: I have worked for the last twenty years to aid young adults in making smart choices. To remember, that the choices they make, affect more than just themselves. I know the pain because my sister was killed by a drunk driver when I was 16. It put me on the path to trying to prevent these tragedies from happening to anyone else. When I read about young adults losing their life because of their own, or someone's poor choice, it brings a sadness to my heart that rekindles the pain I have known for the last 32 yrs. My heart and prayers go out to those families affected. Step-Up Reach-Out.

Comments: The amount of pain I feel for these families goes to such a higher level, as to I once was a teen overdose victim at the age of 15, but help was found before it was to late and my life was not claimed. I do have to say I never spoke to those "friends" again.
The awarness that is taking place here is amazing and I hope to be excepted in to helping stop this ring of teen overdoses that lead to the death of teens that should have been helped.

Comments: My son Jason Cannell went to a concert july 24th 2004 and took something stupidly he was not sure of and it unfortunately it caused his body to shut down over a 7 hour period while his friends stood by and watched him as he experienced seizures with out calling anyone because they did not want to get in trouble for being stoned. They eventually called a paramedic after a long nite and after leaving him on a shower floor for an hour and then they did not even show up to the hospital to give someone his name so he was checked in under john doe. We unplugged him 7 days later. My son thought this Kid Ryan riffin was his friend. I am so sad still
